“Ow!”
I smacked the back of Yang Il-ho’s head, interrupting his egg-munching session in the corner.
“Why do you scream so adorably?”
“Why’d you hit me?!”
“Can’t I hit you?”
“No, you can’t!”
“That’s not important. Everyone, gather around.”
Lee Ho-jung cautiously approached, curious about the commotion. I patted Yang Il-ho’s shoulder reassuringly before handing him a thick folder.
“We’re setting up a foundation. Contracting company, R&D firm, and an orphanage. The details are inside. Put together a proper framework.”
Yang Il-ho skimmed through the documents and instantly made his assessment.
“Hyung, this…”
“Yeah?”
“This is borderline fraud. Any prosecutor who sees this will lose their mind.”
“Then it’s your job to make it legal.”
“Excuse me?”
Yang Il-ho held a lawyer’s license, though it was currently suspended due to his work as my aide. Not my problem.
“You have three days.”
“What?”
“Make it legal.”
“This is foundation and corporation setup work!”
“So?”
“I’m a lawyer!”
“And?”
Il-ho stood up in a panic, sweat beading on his forehead. I frowned and cornered him further.
“A genius who graduated early from primary, middle, and high school can’t handle this?”
“What does that have to do with anything!?”
“Yang Il-ho, early graduate of Korea University’s 63rd class! Is this all you’re capable of? Did you ace the bar exam with a flick of your wrist?”
“How am I supposed to make this legal? It’s obviously a patchwork of corporations slapped together under the name of a public foundation!”
“If it doesn’t work, make it work. Ever heard of the Special Forces mentality?”
“That’s the Marines!”
“Does it matter? I didn’t even serve.”
“This is the kind of thing a labor consultant would handle!”
“Then team up with her.”
I pointed my thumb over my shoulder.
Turning around, I grinned at Lee Ho-jung, who froze mid-step as she tried to sneak out of the room.
“Ah, well, if it isn’t the Progressive Party aide, Lee Ho-jung!”
“A-ha-ha… yes?”
“Lee Ho-jung, aspiring labor consultant!”
“I’m not certified…”
“Didn’t your assemblyman force you to study for the labor consultant exam? Didn’t you get drunk and grab me by the collar, complaining about it?”
“I haven’t even passed the exam yet.”
“Not my problem.”
Smiling brightly, I gestured to the stack of documents in Yang Il-ho’s hands.
“Do it.”
(TL Note: Yeah, I know. It’s way too short for a chapter but that’s it. I’m even surprised how short this chapter is.)
