Chapter 180
“Bible?”
It was Leo’s original magic, presented during the first-semester midterm practical of the Magic Department.
Torua Yan remembered it well, not because it was impressive—but because it was absurd.
‘He claimed it was magic that could use any spell in the world without penalties, right?’
It was ridiculous.
All magic in the world?
That meant not just widely known spells, but even [original magic].
Even with just standard magic, there were already more types than one could count.
And yet, a spell that could reproduce original magic too?
‘That’s not human magic.’
Everyone who saw Leo’s original spell thought the same thing.
But during the midterm, Leo had also demonstrated the basic formula behind it.
Just from that, it was obvious this first-year was serious about perfecting the spell.
‘When people read the thesis, they said he was insane.’
But Torua liked Leo for that.
Whether it worked or not, what Leo was aiming for was the ultimate ideal of a mage.
Still, despite the initial shock of ‘Bible,’ most people had already forgotten about it—dismissing it as impossible.
Torua had only remembered it as ‘Oh right, that’s what he did back then.’
But now—
‘He actually implemented it?’
Torua’s face twisted in shock.
If someone had only told her about it, she wouldn’t have believed them.
But right now, in front of her eyes, Leo was using her original magic.
Her own ideal of what magic could be—was being cast by someone else.
A shiver ran down Torua’s spine as she unleashed a spell.
Flash—!
Brilliant magic lit up the sky.
Leo responded in kind with magic of his own.
BOOOOM—!
Their spells clashed in midair.
‘He’s really using my original magic.’
Torua dropped her head.
Her body trembled.
She hadn’t lived long, but she’d dedicated her life to [Magic Power].
And now, a first-year brat was using the spell that symbolized her as a mage.
To copy another mage’s signature spell so easily?
‘This is… this is…’
She looked up.
‘Too amazing!’
Eyes sparkling, Torua raised her staff.
“Leo! I’m really excited right now! How is this possible? How far can you copy my magic?”
Wooooong—!
Her surging [Mana] radiated a visceral thrill.
Leo broke into a cold sweat.
‘She really is incredible.’
The title of Lumene’s strongest mage wasn’t for show.
She would surely become a world-class archmage one day.
Her power was built through relentless effort and countless exploits in the Hero’s World.
Ziiiiing—FLASH!
Seeing the staggering number of original spell circles forming in the air, Leo’s eyes widened.
Flash—!
“You copied this one too?”
Torua’s gaze turned glassy.
A miracle was unfolding before her eyes.
As someone obsessed with magic, she couldn’t resist it.
‘I want to study it. I want to study it. I want to study it. I want to study it. I want to study it.’
Her mind was full of only one desire.
Watching her, Leo felt his vision burn.
‘Still too much, huh?’
Leo’s original magic—well, technically, it was created by Kyle—was a skill that only Kyle could fully realize thanks to his unique mana trait.
The trait Lysinas once named “purity” granted Leo the gift of being an [All-Class].
It meant he could wield any class’s abilities, regardless of attribute.
He couldn’t master any single one to the extreme, but he could walk any path already paved.
[Bible] reflected that.
It temporarily amplified his spell-processing capabilities through [Mana].
Then it analyzed and mimicked the opponent’s magic.
That was the essence of Bible.
‘But of course, it’s not omnipotent.’
He couldn’t copy spells that required traits he didn’t have.
A prime example: Chloe’s [Ice World].
[Field Magic] was one of his weakest areas.
Ironically, that made him a natural predator to someone like Torua.
Her spells were all products of study and practice.
So as long as he could compute the formulas, he could replicate them.
‘Even if her formulas are ridiculously complex.’
Leo felt his head throbbing.
The overload was taking a toll on his body.
‘Right now, all I can do is copy.’
A completed Bible would allow him to store analyzed spells and cast them again later.
But for now, all he could do was immediate imitation.
‘And even then, it’s not enough to copy these advanced ones. They’re too heavy.’
His mind couldn’t retain them.
Like running out of blank pages in a book.
Leo blocked another of Torua’s spells.
‘Bible’s activation time: 1 minute.’
Roughly 30 seconds had passed.
But he was already drenched in sweat.
His vision blurred, and his head throbbed.
Overload was creeping in fast.
And Torua, now utterly delighted, kept bombarding him with spells.
“Can you copy this one? How about this? And this one too?”
Like a child pulling toy after toy from a chest—
She unleashed spell after spell.
Leo felt himself pushed to the brink.
Then—
BOOM—!
On the ground, the Lava Golem guarding Torua’s goal exploded.
The ball had shattered it.
Torua stared wide-eyed at the field below.
Leo deactivated [Bible] and spoke.
“Looks like we won?”
“What?”
“You said if we scored even once, it’d be our victory.”
“Oh…”
Torua remembered her own words and stood dazed.
Leo smiled once and descended to the ground.
Everyone watched him with strange expressions.
When he landed, he staggered.
“You okay?”
Chloe rushed over to support him.
“Just tired.”
“Lean on me if you need.”
“Then I won’t hold back.”
As Leo leaned into her, Chloe braced herself and held firm.
Leo gave a soft chuckle and held out his hand for a high-five.
Chloe slapped it; then Abad and Chelsea joined in.
“Leo! You actually finished it?”
“That was amazing. Can you show me the formula sometime?”
“Me too!”
As the four shared in the excitement—
“Who said the game was over?”
Torua suddenly stood before them.
“Didn’t we win?” Abad asked with a calm smile.
Torua nodded.
“Sure. But there’s still time left.”
“You said if we scored once, we win,” Chelsea pouted behind Abad.
“Yeah, well. Promises are meant to be broken.”
The first-years looked dumbfounded at Torua’s lesson in moral flexibility.
Then—
“Torua. Promises are meant to be kept. Treat the first-years with love.”
Ulta Regdition appeared to block her.
“Eiria. Escort Torua off the field, gently.”
She summoned her pegasus, Eiria, to drag Torua out of bounds.
“Hey! Let go of me!”
As Torua flailed while being dragged away by her hair, the first-years burst into muffled laughter.
Ulta, unfazed, looked at Leo.
“I thought you’d use summoning.”
“Did you?”
“But your magic is impressive.”
Leo chuckled.
Meanwhile—
Fwoooosh—!
Flames flared up from a nearby field, drawing everyone’s attention to Celia.
The Bastera ball blazed with [Aura].
Even as her own fire scorched her, Celia poured out power far beyond her limits.
Fwoooosh—!
Her flames wrapped around the ball.
She tossed it into the air.
Then Duran enveloped his foot with lightning [Aura] and kicked it to Chen Xia.
BOOM—! CRACKLE—!
With the combined force of flame and lightning, Chen Xia twisted her body midair.
Fwoooosh—!
She absorbed the ball into her rotation and began to spin rapidly, accelerating it further.
Flicker—crackle—
Her hands were already wrecked by the energy, but she didn’t care.
The success of this combo hinged entirely on her.
She hurled the now-unstoppable ball toward Jamua.
BOOOOM—!
Watching the incoming projectile, Jamua grinned.
“Let’s see how you like this!”
Celia shouted with pride.
But Jamua just smiled and dodged.
BOOOOM—!
The ball blew through the goal and shattered the wall behind it.
“You win. Well done.”
Jamua laughed heartily and clapped.
Celia, burned from her own flames, Duran with swollen feet from excessive [Aura] output, and Chen Xia with wrecked hands, all stared at him in disbelief.
“Wait—why’d you dodge?!”
Celia protested.
Jamua shrugged.
“If I’d taken that head-on, I’d be in the infirmary. I hate being hurt.”
“Arghhhhhh!”
Celia clawed her head while Jamua laughed with folded arms.
Watching from afar, Rhys Zerdinger crossed his arms.
‘Celia… I can hardly recognize you.’
He had expected her to grow once she enrolled at Lumene.
But her growth far exceeded his predictions.
‘And Leo’s magic earlier…’
Rhys wasn’t a mage, but he knew what Leo had done was absurd.
And now he understood what Ulta meant when she said Leo had what it took to be student council president.
‘It might not take long.’
He looked at his hand—soaked in sweat.
As heir of the Zerdinger house, he had always lived as the “best.”
There were still many stronger than him, yes.
But Rhys had always believed he’d surpass them all eventually.
That he would one day be the true “best.”
But now—
‘This is the first time I’ve seen a junior who might surpass me.’
He wiped his hands while watching his cousin.
—
In the headmaster’s office, Kalian Beidian silently stared at his cherished sword.
The weathered blade named Clessis.
It was said to house an unimaginable amount of [Mana].
It was a symbol of the Sword Star—and one of the most powerful swords in the world.
Its origins were unknown.
‘But in that moment, it looked brand-new.’
He recalled when it struck down the remnant of the King of Curses Kigors.
‘The mana residue left in the blade… it was Leo Plov’s. No doubt about it.’
Not only was Leo the unprecedented [All-Class], but he had also bested elite opponents to become class representative.
He had already cleared the Hero’s World twice.
He had even uncovered proof of Kyle’s existence—long thought to be a myth.
Anyone destined to become a hero showed signs early on.
Kalian himself had an extraordinary first year at Lumene.
But Leo was beyond comparison.
‘What is he, really?’
He had asked himself that countless times.
There was no trace of a boy—only the aura of a seasoned hero in Leo’s presence.
‘Elena may see him as someone with potential to be a great hero… but no. He’s already one.’
As Kalian rested his chin on his hand in thought—
Knock knock.
“Come in.”
The door opened and Rhys entered.
“Rhys. What brings you here?”
“I’d like to submit a student council nomination.”
“So you finally decided. Who?”
“Leo Plov.”
Hearing the name, Kalian let out a short, surprised laugh.
