Chapter 508
Boom!
Damn it, this really feels like a mace.
I was flung out of the warship, feeling a dull pain in my chest.
Just before crashing into the water, I flipped my body midair, channeling all the energy from my lower dantian into my legs and stepping onto the surface.
Splash!
Like dipping a foot into a puddle, the once-calm water violently rippled.
Using Water Striding Technique, I stood firmly on the river’s surface, glaring at Moon Kyung in disbelief.
“What the hell are you doing all of a sudden?”
“The still river has been disturbed.”
“What does that even mean… Huh?”
“Your reckless movements might as well stir up a storm.”
Before I could retort, Moon Kyung clicked his tongue and continued.
“Then… let’s begin.”
Ding!

Q&A LOADING…
Q: The surrounding characters are all unique and full of personality. Were they based on real people?
A: I never specifically modeled a character entirely after someone, but I think a little bit of me and my acquaintances is sprinkled into all the characters in Murim Login.
It’s like making stew—doenjang for doenjang-jjigae, kimchi for kimchi-jjigae. You just add the necessary ingredients.
Ah, but thinking about Cheongpung now is making me lose confidence. I guess there are a few exceptions…
Q: Which character took the longest to conceptualize?
A: Most of them were just vague ideas in my head that I fleshed out spontaneously, so it didn’t take long.
But from the beginning until now, the character I’ve spent the most time thinking about is definitely Jin Taekyung.
Q: Which character acts the most out of your control while writing?
A: ZeroBig. He keeps going off-track when I’m in a rush, and it’s exhausting.
Sorry for the nonsense. It used to be Cheongpung, but these days, it’s Jeok Cheon-Gang.
I didn’t even plan to give him a dedicated arc, but I keep unconsciously writing him in. Oh, and also Hyuk Mu-jin & Gong Gi-bang duo.
Q: Out of all the extras, which one do you have the most attachment to, and why?
A: The So siblings from the Taeweonjin Family’s Sakju Branch—So Cheon and So Yul. And Han Yeop from the reconnaissance squad, who was initially closer to the protagonist than Hyuk Mu-jin.
I feel sympathy for the So siblings because they lost too much at a young age. As for Han Yeop, I regret not giving him a bigger role.
For those asking about characters that haven’t reappeared, don’t worry—I keep track of them all. You’ll meet them again in the novel.
Q: Where does Cheongpung keep getting his dumplings and food?
A: He carries them everywhere in his bundle. Whenever there’s space, he fills it with food.
He usually eats dumplings, but since they can spoil depending on the weather, he mostly prefers sweets.
Q: Why did you choose a spear as Jin Taekyung’s weapon?
A: Weak F-rank Hunter + absolutely nothing special + symbol of the powerless, a bamboo spear = perfect match.
Q: Which character is most similar to you in personality?
A: Jin Taekyung and Hyuk Mu-jin. If you mix them together, you’d probably get me.
Q: Will you ever release side stories about Moon Kyung and Salcheonmun or about the Fire King traveling to the real world?
A: Side stories—yes. I’ll consider Moon Kyung and Salcheonmun’s story.
But for the Fire King… no comment.
Any answer would be a spoiler.
Q: Go Ji-won’s character, Seong Jin-ho, received a lot of hate. Was he just a one-time event, or does he have a bigger role?
A: A lot of readers have asked about Seong Jin-ho. Like the Fire King, I’ll stay silent on this one.
I do feel bad about how disliked he became. I should have written him better…
Q: What happened to Jin Mu-gyeong? Do you dislike him?
A: This is a frequently asked question.
For those reading past chapter 500, you know Jin Mu-gyeong is currently holed up in the Taeweonjin Family’s training hall.
I personally like him, but balancing multiple characters at once was beyond my ability, so I had to make a choice.
Q: What was your favorite comedic scene?
A: Hard to pick just one.
Early on, the banter between Cheongpung and Jeok Cheon-Gang with the protagonist was chef’s kiss—better than 2010-11 FC Barcelona. I often smiled while writing those parts.
But the saddest comedy moments? Those, I remember vividly.
– Chapter 77, aka the “Wall of Lamentation” scene in the modern-day segment, where the protagonist flirts with Song-Yi.
– Chapter 102, the “Seong Jin-ho Parasite” scene.
I laughed while writing both, but after reading the comments, I couldn’t smile for days.
Chapter 77 was the wall of lamentation.
Chapter 102 was the ultimate wall of lamentation.
Anyone who survived past those chapters—I love you all.
Q: Who is your favorite character?
A: It changes over time.
At first, it was Jin Wi-gyeong. Then it was Cheongpung. Now, it’s Jeok Cheon-Gang and Hyuk Mu-jin.
Jin Taekyung, as the protagonist, embodies a lot of things I wanted, and he doesn’t feel lacking. But Hyuk Mu-jin is like a wounded finger to me—he suffers so much and gets bullied constantly…
Then again, thinking about it, he’s still a rich kid.
Ah, screw it. My favorite is Noya.
Q: Is Murim Login your first novel?
A: Yes.
Chapter 508 (Continued)
Q: Since this is your first work, it has gained immense popularity and love from the readers. Do you feel pressured by it?
A: Murim Login is my first work, and my thoughts are simple.
I. LOVE. IT. GIVE. ME. MORE.
Dear readers, please give me so much love and popularity that I struggle under its weight…
Q: How many chapters do you plan for the ending?
A: I think wrapping it up within 300 more chapters, so before chapter 800, would be ideal. Initially, I expected Murim Login to end at around chapter 250.
At this rate, I feel like I’m pouring my entire youthful twenties into this novel.
Q: Are there any writers or works that influenced you in writing Murim Login?
A: The work that had the biggest influence on Murim Login is Nam In-chae’s [Demonic Sword King].
After reading it, I thought, “Maybe I should write a story that travels between the modern world and Murim,” and that was the beginning of Murim Login.
Nam In-chae’s writing is excellent, and it’s a masterpiece with a serious tone and depth, so I highly recommend it.
(That said, don’t drop Murim Login for it, that’d be too much.)
Q: What was your first martial arts novel?
A: I thought about it, but I can’t remember.
I need to attain enlightenment and cure my early-onset memory loss as soon as possible.
Update: I wrote everything and suddenly remembered—it was [Bi-Roe-Do].
Q: Which author do you admire, and what is your favorite novel?
A: Regardless of where I started, my favorite Murim novel is Han Sang-woon’s [Four Seasons of Murim].
I’ve read it more than ten times, and it still blows my mind every time.
Han Sang-woon, I love you. Please write more Murim novels. I’m begging you.
Q: Do you have any plans for your next work after Murim Login?
A: Of course. I already have three different story ideas, and I even wrote a test chapter for one of them.
I was so proud when I showed it to my editor, and they were delighted, saying I had reserves for the next work.
…But then, when I actually mentioned it was a new project, I couldn’t even meet their gaze.
The intimidation level: Basilisk.
Q: Are you more of a Zero or a Big?
A: “Ro… ”
Q: What works are you currently enjoying reading?
A: “… Murim Login.”
Q: Is there anything you’d like to ask of your readers?
A: The way a reader interprets a story is entirely up to them.
If a reader is disappointed with my writing and leaves a harsh comment, I hope other readers who enjoyed it can simply think, “Oh, that’s their opinion,” and move on.
I genuinely appreciate constructive criticism that comes from a place of love. However, it saddens me when I see readers arguing over those comments.
Everyone has tough days, and I don’t want people to waste their energy on internet fights.
Just enjoy reading the story, and if you feel like it, leave a comment or a rating to let me know what you thought of the latest chapter.
To all of you reading Murim Login now and in the future—I am sincerely grateful.
Peace, prosperity, and Murim domination!
Q: Editor, was there ever a moment when you wanted to punish ZeroBig?
A: “Sorry about that, but I had a deadline. Yeah, I pulled an April Fool’s joke… but did you really expect this? The ultimate battle between world-dominating forces?”
(File name: Murim Login Chapter 375.hwp – April 1st release.)

A: Thank you so much for enjoying the event! ZeroBig & Rough Media will continue to do our best.
