Chapter 515
“What… what is this?”
“Olympus would go this far…?”
“Are they insane?”
“They’re really doing this here?”
With Olympus’s declaration of war, chaos erupted everywhere.
Not only minor factions, but even the administrators were at a loss, unable to process what to do next.
A simple administrator selection had suddenly become a battlefield—of course, this reaction was only natural.
Only Bendivia seemed to have anticipated it, his face hardening.
“Haeteis! Is this what you wanted? How did the high-level administrator who was supposed to preserve balance become Olympus’s lapdog!”
“Hmm. I didn’t expect things to go quite like this myself. I’d appreciate it if you’d stop throwing around wild accusations about whose dog I am.”
“Do you think I’ll believe such an excuse?”
“Believe what you want, but right now’s not the time to argue over the truth, is it?”
Haeteis gazed up at the raging sky.
Now that Olympus was truly in motion, the entire world shook violently.
Rumble!
Chunks of floating stone shattered and fell.
At this rate, an entire floor reserved for administrators might disappear.
No, it could end up being an even greater disaster.
“Intermediate administrators, immediately relay orders to all lower administrators under your charge! Send support to the deities belonging to each mythology!”
Bendivia shouted at once.
To counter this enormous force, and to keep the deities of the Middle Ages from being wiped out completely, this was the best move.
⁕ ⁕ ⁕
“They really are insane.”
Jinhyuk shook his head, watching monsters awaken all over.
He knew they were crazy, but he thought they’d at least wait until the competition ended to make a move.
But this was utter lawlessness.
“Kroooar!”
The nine-headed Hydra charged right into the ranks of Anubis’s warriors.
With its voracious appetite and destructive power, the densely packed formations suffered devastating losses.
And the countless other named monsters from mythology were just as troublesome.
“These bastards…”
“So you’re just declaring war openly now!”
Anubis and Berial roared with fury.
They’d never imagined Olympus would go to such extremes.
But Olympus didn’t answer their shouts.
They simply smashed the outposts of minor factions according to their plan.
“Kahahaha! This is exhilarating!”
Ares, armed with spear and shield.
“I’ll bury you all at the bottom of the sea.”
Poseidon, creating whirlpools with the overflowing water.
“I’ve already deployed spatial distortion magic and communications jammers nearby. No one will be able to call for help now.”
Hermes, checking the barrier as he flew overhead.
Each was coldly carrying out their role.
“Don’t get distracted. Keep your eyes on me. If you can’t get past me, you can’t do anything anyway.”
Hector aimed his spear again.
Not a hint of carelessness.
At that moment—
Bang!
The spear shot forward like lightning.
“Did you say you’d let us go?”
But—
The spear aimed at Jinhyuk’s neck was deflected in midair.
Clang!
A crimson flame shattered and scattered.
And in the middle of it, a dazzling blade gleamed.
“I gave permission.”
Chun Yoosung blocked the way between the chariot and Hector.
⁕ ⁕ ⁕
Leaving Chun Yoosung to hold the line, Jinhyuk quickly steered the chariot toward Berial and Anubis.
“Berial!”
“Oh! You’re finally here!”
“We’ve been waiting, human.”
Berial and Anubis shouted together.
Both looked drained, likely from burning through so much magic during the last attack.
Of course, both of them had been recklessly using wide-area abilities…
“How’s your condition?”
“I can hold out for now. Killing off small fry is no problem… but I don’t have the strength left for those big ones.”
“We do have comparable divine beasts and sacred beasts on our side, but all the summoning routes have been blocked.”
Hermes had completely locked things down, so finding a way through was nearly impossible.
Unless they had foreseen this from the start and reserved coordinates for teleportation.
“Contractor!”
Alice’s shout cut their conversation short.
By now, Olympus’s warriors had reached their position.
“Kekeke…”
“There’s a bunch of big fish here.”
“It’s a chest of gold coins for every head from the Veteran Corporation.”
“And they’re offering five million coins each, too.”
“Kang Jinhyuk is triple the normal reward. We have to catch him no matter what.”
The muscular Spartan warriors snickered.
There were at least thirty.
If they’d survived Berial’s tornado, none of them were to be underestimated.
And then—
“Kahaha! Don’t worry, you’ll get all the rewards you want if you bring me his head.”
Among the warriors was one who was on a different level entirely.
Ares.
One of Olympus’s chief gods—the god of war himself.
If Heracles was a heavy fighter compelled by fate, Ares was a true berserker who lived for the thrill of the battlefield.
“I was worried Heracles would hog all the good prey, but lucky me. You’ve come right to me.”
Ares looked Jinhyuk up and down.
“You look a bit too delicate for my taste… but I’ll enjoy tormenting you. I’ll rip off your arms and legs one by one and make you beg for your life.”
His sadistic, twisted nature showed through without a filter.
At the same time—
Step.
“How dare you… Whose arms and legs do you think you’re ripping off?”
“I can’t just stand by and listen to this.”
Alice and Teresa stepped forward, eyes blazing with murderous intent.
“Ho. So it’s Alice. I heard you killed Excension and reclaimed your spot. Quite an inspiring story.”
“You know all that and still flap your mouth like that? And to my contractor, no less?”
“Puhaha! Look at you, all fired up. What are you, her lover or something? Well, if you’re that upset, try settling it with force. That’s how things work here, isn’t it?”
“That’s the only thing you’ve said that makes sense. No need for pointless arguments.”
[Alice activates the unique ability ‘Blood Lord’!]
A massive barrage of spikes targeted Ares head-on.
If he just stood there, he’d end up skewered—no, shredded until he was unrecognizable.
Ares didn’t budge.
He simply raised his shield and stared straight at Alice, as if daring her to come at him.
Twitch.
Alice waved her hand instantly.
A crimson storm of blood swept forward.
Crash! Crash! Crash! Crash! Crash!
The spikes tore the ground to pieces.
And as if that wasn’t enough, more and more spikes kept falling.
“Kraaaagh!”
“Get out of the way!”
The Spartan warriors who hadn’t escaped the range in time screamed.
Arms and legs severed by the spikes flew everywhere. Corpses impaled on the spikes littered the ground.
After more than three minutes of this red rain, the landscape had completely changed.
But—
“So that’s your level. You’ll be a worthy opponent.”
Ares remained standing, untouched, amid Alice’s concentrated barrage.
[Ares activates the unique ability ‘Reaper of the Battlefield’!]
Rumble!
His long spear and shield were instantly gilded in gold.
[Calculating the number of all troops on the battlefield.]
[Total tallied, abilities calculated.]
[Attack and defense each increase by 560%!]
The Reaper of the Battlefield’s ability was simple but certain.
The number and quality of troops present directly determined Ares’s overall combat power.
Given how overwhelming his base stats were, adding a 560% buff made it hard to imagine what kind of monster he’d become.
In fact, Ares was already laughing wildly, intoxicated by the surge of power.
“Kahahaha! This is what makes a battlefield full of strong opponents so exhilarating. This isn’t even enough to tickle!”
“Yeah?”
Alice gathered the blood-forged spikes into one massive spear.
One layer… two layers… fifty layers.
“Then try blocking this one.”
What struck Ares’s shield now was no longer a spike—it was a gigantic spear.
Boom!
“……!!??”
Ares was sent sliding back.
A tingling shock ran down his shield, piercing straight into his bones.
“My… my power’s increased several times over, so how…?”
It shouldn’t be possible.
With this much power, even other deities should be crawling before him.
“Your strength was so weak to begin with that even getting stronger hardly shows.”
“A vampire who was on death’s door… getting cocky just because she got lucky with a single hit! Fine, I’ll break that arrogant nose of yours first!”
Ares pulled out the conch from his neck.
Then blew into it with all his might.
Bwooo!
The magical sound of the conch echoed out thunderously.
“Kroooooar!”
“Kieeeeee!”
The Hydra, Typhon, and one-eyed Cyclopes answered the call.
Divine beasts that had been devouring Anubis’s army moments before now began converging on Ares.
They now faced not just Ares, but a formidable pack of sacred beasts as well.
And among the oncoming foes were the remaining chief gods and hero-grade warriors.
“This will be a hell of a fight.”
Anubis bared his fangs.
At this point, they’d have to risk everything and summon even more troops.
“Kill them all!”
Ares gave the order.
The monsters forming a ring around them roared and charged in unison.
But just then—
“I nearly died waiting here.”
Jinhyuk, who’d been silent all this time, grumbled toward the sky.
At that moment—
“Apologies. I tried to be as prepared as possible… but it took a bit longer than I thought.”
A familiar voice echoed through the air.
At the same time—
Vwooom.
[The dimension is connecting.]
An impossible message appeared.
Even with Hermes’s space completely sealed, new forces began to appear.
