I'm resuming updates for Golden Haired Summoner now. However it's going to be either a 2 or 3 chapters per week release, unless it gets more reads then I will make it a 5x a week release.
However, since it was nighttime, there weren’t many people around.
Eventually, they stumbled upon a walkway and decided to follow it. Soon, they spotted someone—an older boy who looked about ten years older than them.
“…It’s a big brother,” Pero whispered.
“Brother, can we ask him? I’m so hungry,” Iro said, tugging on Pero’s sleeve.
“Um… No, let’s ask him something else instead.”
The older boy was peeking through some bushes, looking at something with what appeared to be a telescope. In front of the telescope stood a large, ornate building that looked somewhat like their dormitory, but much bigger and fancier.
Quietly, Pero and Iro crept up to the boy, who was so absorbed in his spying that he didn’t notice them approaching.
“Excuse me, big brother!” Pero gently tapped the boy’s back.
“Yaaaa!” the older boy shrieked, startled out of his wits, letting out a high-pitched scream. His reaction was so odd that Pero and Iro both jumped in shock.
At that moment, the twins both had the same thought: *So this is why Dad said grown men are dangerous.*
“H-Hic…” Iro started to tear up, her nerves on edge.
The boy, who had been secretly spying, calmed down after realizing it was just a couple of kids who had startled him.
“W-What’s this? Just kids? I thought I was caught!” the boy muttered, relaxing a little.
“Don’t cry, Iro!” Pero said, trying to comfort her.
“He’s scary, brother!” Iro whimpered.
The boy, now aware that his secret was still safe, glanced at the pair of kids in front of him, wondering what they were doing out here so late.
Still a little on edge, the boy crossed his arms and asked, “So…what are you two doing here?”
He looked to be about seventeen or eighteen years old—still youthful but not far off from being considered an adult.
“Hey, big brother! Can I ask you something?” Pero asked.
“Huh? What is it?”
“Where’s the pretty lady?” Pero’s question was so strange that the boy stood there in silence for a moment, utterly confused by what he had just heard.
For a second, the boy considered smacking the two kids and reporting them to the teachers. But then, worried they might spill what he was up to, he thought better of it. Instead, he decided to draw them into his plan and motioned for the kids to come closer.
“Come here for a second,” the boy said, gesturing them over with his finger.
Pero, now a little suspicious, asked, “Why, why?”
“I-I’m scared,” Iro whispered, clinging to her brother.
“You wanted to see a pretty lady, right? I’ll show you,” the boy said, lowering his voice.
Despite their unease, Pero cautiously approached. The boy pointed to the viewfinder of his precious telescope.
“Look through here,” the boy instructed.
“Here?” Pero leaned down to look through the telescope.
“Yeah, yeah. Take a good look. You’re just in time—I was watching the most beautiful girl in the entire academy.”
The boy whispered slyly, as Pero squinted through the lens.
He saw a small crosshairs, and within it, a figure was moving upside down.
“Whoa! It’s moving! Big brother, is this a telescope?” Pero asked excitedly, his voice rising with wonder.
“Shhh! Keep your voice down!” the boy hissed, covering Pero’s mouth quickly.
“Yes, big brother. But… is that really the prettiest lady?” Pero asked quietly, keeping his voice low as the boy instructed.
Though the image was upside down, Pero could clearly see a girl with long pink hair and striking green eyes, changing her clothes. She was beautiful, but something about her seemed a bit strange to Pero.
The boy looked at him with a smirk and adjusted the telescope. “Here, now look again. That one is Iruse. But now, you’ll see Mia, who’s also from the alchemy class. The two of them are the biggest rivals at the academy. Both of them split the hearts of the boys here. They really hate each other!” the boy explained.
When Pero looked again, he saw a girl with sparkling blonde hair and gentle jade-green eyes, reading a thick book. She didn’t have the same flashy beauty as the first girl, but there was a serene charm to her.
“Brother, I want to see too!” Iro said, tugging at Pero’s sleeve.
“Sure, take a look.” Pero stepped aside and let Iro peer through the telescope.
“Big brother, can my sister look too?” Pero asked the boy.
“Yeah, go ahead,” the boy replied easily.
Iro, who had been on the verge of tears just moments ago, now beamed with delight as she mimicked Pero and peered through the telescope.
“Wow! That lady is really pretty! But… why is she upside down?” Iro asked, confused.
“Don’t you remember? Telescopes show things upside down because of refraction, like it said in the books,” Pero explained matter-of-factly.
“Oh, right!” Iro nodded as if she’d remembered something important, but she was clearly fascinated and couldn’t tear herself away from the telescope.
While Iro continued to gaze through the lens, Pero turned back to the boy and asked, “So, big brother, who’s the prettiest lady out of all of them? I need to know because I want to ask her something.”
“Hmm, who’s the prettiest? That’s a tough question…” the boy frowned, scratching his head.
“What? You don’t know who the prettiest lady is?” Pero asked in disbelief.
The boy grimaced at the question. The idea of not knowing who the most beautiful woman at the academy was—a place where he prided himself on knowing all the girls—was a blow to his ego. He had always spied on the girls but hadn’t thought about who was the *prettiest*.
After a moment of contemplation, a forgotten beauty popped into his head.
“Oh! Wait, there is someone. The absolute prettiest,” the boy finally said, his eyes lighting up.
“Really? Who is she?” Pero asked, intrigued.
“She…what was her name again? I haven’t seen her in two years, but she’s an incredible beauty! She used to hang out with Mia and Iruse, and they seemed close, but she’s always locked away in the training hall. She won the Winkan Festival two years ago, but since then, she’s barely been seen outside. Her pale skin is to die for!” the boy rambled, getting excited.
“Where is she now?” Pero asked, tilting his head.
Iro, still glued to the telescope, remained silent as she listened.
“She’s probably in the training hall. I used to catch glimpses of her two years ago, but not lately. Ah, if only I had gotten this telescope two years earlier, I could’ve spied on her more! Ah, I remember her name now—Geenie Crowell!” the boy exclaimed.
“Geenie Crowell? So she’s the prettiest one, right?” Pero asked.
“Probably. She doesn’t come out much, so most people don’t know her. Even Bright Kenian, a famous senior from the magic class, chased after her relentlessly. He graduated at the top of his class… What was it, two years ago? He followed her everywhere until then. I remember because I was close with his friend, Zymon,” the boy explained.
Pero nodded repeatedly as he listened attentively to the boy’s story.
Just as he was about to ask where the training hall was, something caught his eye. In the moonlight beneath the dormitory building, a white snake slithered into view.
“Ahh! A snake! Big brother, there’s a snake!” Pero cried out.
“Huh? What’s a snake doing in the dorms… Oh! That’s it! Hey, kid, that snake belongs to Geenie Crowell. Follow it, and you’ll meet her,” the boy said excitedly.
“Alright, let’s go, Iro! We have to follow that snake to find the pretty lady and ask her for directions!” Pero said, grabbing Iro’s hand and pulling her along.
“But I was still looking at something fun…” Iro muttered, reluctant to leave the telescope.
But Pero dragged her along as the white snake disappeared beyond the dormitory.
As the twins ran off in pursuit of the snake, the boy muttered to himself, “Directions… What are these kids thinking?”
Shaking his head in confusion, the boy turned back to his telescope, resuming his spying. It was a beautiful night.
“Pant… Pant… Brother, I’m tired,” Iro complained, breathless from running.
“Come on, Iro! If we follow that snake, we’ll find our way back to the dorm!” Pero urged, still pulling her along.
“Ugh, we should’ve just asked that big brother for directions,” Iro whined.
“No! It has to be a pretty lady!” Pero insisted.
Even as they ran, the twins continued to chat back and forth, seemingly not too hungry yet.
The snake would vanish for a moment, then suddenly reappear far ahead. Whenever they thought they were close, it would dart off into the distance again.
After running for what felt like a long time, the snake disappeared into a thicket. Beyond the bushes, they could see the forest stretching out ahead.
“Ah! Snake!” Pero called out in frustration.
Just as he cried out, the snake reappeared from the bushes as if responding to him.
Its pale white body shimmered in the moonlight, and its red eyes and tongue glowed like rubies.
“Um… Can we go with you?” Pero asked nervously.
To his surprise, the snake shook its head as if to say no, understanding his words.
“Brother, the snake understands us!” Iro exclaimed in wonder.
“Dad said that white snakes are good for your health! Maybe that’s why it’s so smart?” Pero suggested.
“Sssssss!”
Suddenly, the previously docile snake opened its mouth wide, threatening Pero.
“What did we do wrong?” Pero cried, trying to figure out what had upset the snake.
“Eeek! Brother!” Iro screamed.
“S-Stay back, you stupid snake!” Pero shouted, stepping in front of his sister and trembling as he confronted the snake.
After staring at them for a moment, the snake swiftly turned and slithered back into the bushes, disappearing into the forest.
Iro, still trembling, asked, “Brother, why did you call it a stupid snake when it was white? Poop is yellow.”
“…There’s white poop too!” Pero shot back, still shaken.
“Oh yeah, you’re right! Like dog poop!”
“Yup, dog poop,” Pero confirmed.
Despite their dirty little conversation, the twins began walking through the path where the snake had disappeared, still shaken by the encounter.
They entered the forest, walking hesitantly through the bushes.
Although they thought it was a dense forest, after passing a few trees, they came upon a wide clearing.
In the center stood a large, round gray building. A faint light seeped through its windows.
“Brother, what’s that?” Iro asked, her voice filled with awe.
“Hmm… A bathroom?” Pero guessed.
“Why is it so big?”
“Maybe it’s a public bathroom?”
Thinking the building was a giant restroom, the twins approached it.
The building was oval-shaped, and small windows dotted the top, too high for the small twins to peek inside.
“Brother, I need to go to the bathroom,” Iro whispered urgently.
“Alright, let’s go in here,” Pero said, concerned for his sister.
The two circled the building, eventually finding a door, but the handle was too high for them to reach.
“Brother…”
“Hold on, let me help! Step on my back and open the door,” Pero offered, crouching down in front of the door.
Though Iro hesitated, her urgency won out, and she stepped on Pero’s back, reaching for the door.
Just as she was about to touch the handle, the door creaked open on its own.
“Wow! Brother, it’s an automatic door!” Iro said in amazement.
Ignoring Pero, who was still crouched on the ground, a bright light poured out from the doorway, revealing a young woman with golden hair standing in the entrance.
She looked a little like the woman named Mia they had seen earlier, but her presence was even more striking. The woman frowned slightly as she looked down at the twins, who were sprawled in front of the door.
“You two…” she began.
“Uh… I-I…” Pero stammered, realizing too late that this was definitely not a bathroom.
But all thoughts of embarrassment vanished as Pero gazed at the stunning young woman before him. Draped over her shoulder was none other than the white snake from earlier.
“Is this what you were chasing, Rai?” the woman asked the snake, referring to it by name.
“Poop snake!” Iro shouted.
“Dog poop snake!” Pero chimed in, both twins pointing at the snake.
The woman’s expression shifted slightly, and she grabbed the snake, shaking it playfully.
“Poop… Pfft! Hahaha! Rai, what have you been up to, getting called a poop snake? And dog poop, at that! Hahaha!” she laughed, clutching her stomach in amusement.
“Miss!” Pero called, catching the woman’s attention. She looked down at the twins again, a smile still lingering on her lips.
“Yes? What is it, little ones?” she asked, her tone much gentler now.
“Are you Geenie Crowell?” Pero asked.
“Yeah, that’s me,” she replied, tilting her head.
“Then can you please help us get back to our dormitory?” Pero pleaded.
Geenie Crowell took a moment to assess the two before her.
“You’re supposed to be wearing your uniforms, you know. Not that I’m one to talk…” she muttered.
“Uniforms?” Pero asked, confused.
“Yes. Your uniforms have a tracking spell on them. By now, your dormitory is probably in chaos, trying to find you two,” Geenie explained with a chuckle.
As she spoke, Iro’s stomach let out a loud growl. Her face flushed red with embarrassment.
“Iro!” Pero exclaimed, mortified.
“Sorry, brother!” she mumbled.
“Hahaha! You two are adorable!” Geenie laughed, still shaking with amusement. “Alright, come on in. I don’t have much, but I’ll give you something to eat.”
The twins hesitated for a moment, but since they had already asked her for directions, they figured it was okay to follow her inside.
With a creak, the door shut behind them once they entered the building.
“…See, I told you it’s an automatic door,” Iro whispered to Pero, who nodded in agreement.
Inside the building, there were piles of books stacked in one corner and a simple bedroll in another.
The walls were charred in some places, and the floor was covered with strange circles drawn in various patterns.
The twins realized they were standing in some kind of training room—just like the older boy had mentioned earlier.
Though they weren’t sure how someone could live here for two years, one thing was certain: the room was warm and cozy.
Geenie, despite her mischievousness, seemed kind-hearted, though with a playful streak.
“How on earth did you end up all the way here from the nursery dorm? Even if I asked you to do it, you wouldn’t be able to. You little troublemakers,” Geenie said with a smirk, opening a large box in front of the twins.
A cool breeze wafted from the box, revealing an assortment of fruits and dried meat.
“Can we… eat this?” Pero asked hesitantly.
“Of course. Eat as much as you want,” Geenie replied, nodding.
Pero wasted no time grabbing a large fruit and stuffing it into his mouth.
Crunch.
The cold juice flowed down his throat.
Though Pero hadn’t complained about being hungry, the truth was that he had been starving for a while now.
Meanwhile, Iro, who had been the one whining about being hungry, merely stared at the fruit in her hand without eating it.
“Um… Sister, what is this box? It’s so cool inside,” Iro asked, curious.
“This? A senior made it for me. It’s not as hard to make as preservation magic, but it’s enchanted with a refrigeration spell. It lasts forever,” Geenie explained casually.
“Wow! How do you make something like this?” Iro asked, her eyes wide with wonder.
“Ask Bright about that,” Geenie said with a smile.
Bright?
Iro suddenly remembered what the older boy had said earlier.
“Is that the same Bright who graduated as the top of the magic class? The one who chased after you?” Iro asked.
“Top of the class? I wouldn’t know,” Geenie replied with a nonchalant shrug.
To Iro, Geenie’s gentle smile made her seem like a goddess.
In that moment, Iro thought, *I want to be like this sister. If I could be like her, maybe the top student in the magic class would make something like this for me too.*
“Chew your food, Iro!” Pero mumbled with his mouth full of fruit.
Nodding, Iro finally took a bite of her fruit. The sweet juice trickled down her throat, and with it, Iro suddenly remembered something important.
“Oh! Sister, where’s the bathroom?” Iro asked urgently.
“Huh? Go outside and turn right,” Geenie said, pointing toward the door.
Iro quickly dashed outside. The white snake, as if understanding her urgency, opened the door for her. In that moment, Iro gained yet another reason to admire Geenie.
A cool box and a snake that opens doors!
As Iro left, Pero continued munching on his fruit, only glancing briefly after his sister.
“Is it good?” Geenie asked.
“Mmhmm!” Pero nodded enthusiastically.
Geenie, perhaps finding the silence uncomfortable, struck up a conversation. Pero, chewing away, noticed the faint shadows of dark circles under her eyes. *Are those the ‘dark circles’ I read about?* he wondered.
At some point, Geenie, clearly tired, began to doze off. Pero didn’t wake her, continuing to eat quietly.
“Brother!” Iro burst through the door, returning from the bathroom. She hurriedly gobbled up the rest of her fruit.
The noise of Iro’s return woke Geenie, who had only been lightly napping. She blinked and watched the twins, now devouring the dried meat and fruit, her chin resting in her hand with an amused smile.
Before long, the box was empty, and the twins, now full, were licking their fingers clean.
“Did you finish?” Geenie asked.
“Yes!” the twins replied in unison.
“Thank you for the food!” they added.
“Good. You wanted to know how to get back to the dorm, right? Well, I’m busy, so follow that snake. It’ll show you the way,” Geenie said, gesturing to the snake coiled by the door.
The snake, startled by Geenie’s command, hesitated for a moment, exchanging a glance with her before lowering its head in resignation.
“We’re supposed to follow that snake?” Iro asked, her voice tinged with fear.
“Yeah, it may look scary, but it’s pretty smart,” Geenie reassured them.
“But it’s scary! It hissed at us earlier! Right, Brother?” Iro insisted, looking to Pero for confirmation.
“Yeah!” Pero agreed, nodding.
Geenie glanced at the snake, which avoided her gaze as if embarrassed. The twins realized the snake was clearly under Geenie’s control.
“Alright then, if you’re too scared… Undine!” Geenie called out to the air.
With a faint tinkling sound, tiny droplets of water gathered in midair, forming the shape of a small mermaid. The little spirit shimmered with a soft blue light, and she was incredibly cute.
“Wow! Look, Brother!” Iro gasped in awe.
“Whoa! Is that a fairy?” Pero exclaimed.
The tiny mermaid radiated a gentle glow as she floated before them.
Smiling, Geenie patted the twins on the head before getting up and opening the door. The snake slithered out first.
“Undine, guide these kids. Light the way for them until they get back to the dorm. After they’re inside, return to me,” Geenie instructed the little water spirit.
Undine bobbed her head, her mouth moving as if speaking, though no sound came out.
The twins followed the glowing mermaid spirit out the door.
“Aren’t you coming with us, Sister?” Pero asked, turning to Geenie.
“Yeah, come with us, Sister!” Iro added.
“I have too much to do. I need to meditate and get back to my training. I’ve rested long enough,” Geenie replied with a smile, leaning against the doorframe as she waved them off.
The twins, now standing on the forest path, waved their arms high in the air, bidding Geenie goodbye as they followed the snake and the little spirit.
“Goodbye, pretty sister!” Pero called.
“Sister, we’ll come back to visit!” Iro added.
Geenie chuckled at their words and waved back, her voice ringing out in the night.
“If you come back, you’ll be in trouble.”
Her voice was bright and beautiful.
Side Story End. To be continued in Volume 3.
—
In a room that felt unfamiliar and extravagant, I mumbled to myself, half-dazed.
“Warp sickness… it gets worse the farther the distance traveled.”
[Master, please pull yourself together.]
I never imagined I’d faint. After nine years of not using warp magic, I had forgotten just how awful it could be.
I even held my breath thinking it might help!
I took motion sickness medicine too!
But instead of feeling better, I nearly passed out—damn it!
“Ughhh.”
In my mind, I wanted to laugh it off, but all that came out of my mouth was a weak, drawn-out sound.
I must not have been fully in my right mind.
*Knock knock.*
As I was sinking further into my self-pity, someone knocked on the door.
The room was so vast, it felt more like a hall than a simple room.
[It’s probably a maid, Master.]
After I had fainted, Rai—worried someone might spot him and shout “a white snake!”—had wrapped himself around my wrist, pretending to be a bracelet, faithfully acting as my personal intercom.
I didn’t have the energy to respond, so I kept my mouth shut, hoping the maid would leave.
But against my wishes, the large door slowly slid open, and the maid entered.
“Oh my! I’m so sorry. I thought you were still asleep…”
The maid and I made eye contact as she entered, and she hurriedly bowed, apologizing. But I didn’t have the energy to be upset.
“…What is it?” I asked, my voice barely a murmur.
“I’m Chelsea, a maid of the Topaz Palace. I’ve been instructed to help you prepare for tonight’s Founding Anniversary Party.”
[Rai, how long have I been out?]
[About a day and a half, Master.]
I had been knocked out that long? I vaguely remembered stepping onto the warp circle in Demitri around noon yesterday, and now it must be around six in the evening the next day.
The party was set to start at eight, so it was about time to get ready.
Even though my body felt like it had no energy left, I had agreed to attend the party with the emperor, so I had no choice but to go.
“Um…”
Chelsea’s voice trembled a little, as if she was unsure of what to do. Her tone implied she was asking for permission to proceed.
I wanted to tell her to leave, but I had never actually worn a complicated party dress before, so I reluctantly forced myself to sit up, breaking the magnetic pull between me and the bed.
I dragged my sluggish body to the dressing table in the room, which was about ten times the size of the one in my dormitory.
The dressing table was so huge, I felt like I could lay down on it.
“Let’s get ready,” I said.
“Yes!”
Chelsea seemed oddly happy as she approached, carrying a large, square wooden case.
When she opened the case on the dressing table, it was filled with…
“Ugh…”
[Master, what’s this? Poison?]
A strange, overwhelming smell hit me—a mix of all sorts of cosmetics.
The stench stung my nose.
My face instinctively scrunched up in response.
Now that I thought about it, despite being a noble lady, I had never actually worn makeup before.
I did wear dresses until I was about three years old, but I don’t remember what kind of dresses they were.
We weren’t a particularly wealthy family, so they were probably just simple everyday dresses.
After that, I had only been at the academy, so there was no opportunity for makeup or fancy dresses.
At the academy, we had learned etiquette classes on how to dance, socialize, speak properly, and wear dresses, but it was all theoretical. Very few students actually used those lessons.
Some of the students who went home for breaks might have attended parties, but I stayed in the training hall during vacations and semesters alike.
So, this whole process felt very foreign to me.
“Is something wrong?” Chelsea asked, noticing my frown as she laid out the cosmetics.
“No, it’s nothing.”
I waved off her concern. Though I had expected that preparing for a party would require something like this, I wasn’t exactly thrilled now that I was faced with the reality.
And with Ash absent, I lacked the motivation to attend the party at all.
“Shall I call you ‘Lady’ then?” Chelsea asked, her tone formal.
“Go ahead,” I replied.
“Do you have a dress with you? If not, I can get one for you,” she offered.
“Oh, I have a dress… in my bag.”
As soon as I mentioned it, Chelsea nodded and retrieved the dress from the luggage under my bed.
I glanced over at the cosmetics spread across the dressing table.
The sheer amount of products was dizzying.
There were so many that I could probably lie down on the dressing table and still have room for the makeup.
*I could use this stuff for a lifetime!*
“Is this the one?” Chelsea asked, holding up the dress.
“Yes, and there should be some accessories…” I started.
“Ah! These?” Chelsea asked, pulling out a jewelry box.
“There should also be shoes…” I added.
Chelsea quickly found the dress, jewelry box, and shoe box, gathering them all in her arms.
The dress, though I had brought it with me, felt a bit too extravagant.
It was the one my family had sent as a graduation gift, along with matching shoes.
The dress was made of light blue fabric, embroidered with large, elegant dark blue flowers. It was the simplest of the dresses I had picked—fewer jewels, more lace.
In fact, aside from the dress, shoes, and jewelry, my luggage didn’t contain much else.
“Shall I help you change?” Chelsea offered.
Without waiting for my response, she swiftly removed the light jacket I had been wearing.
Startled, I quickly stopped her.
“Wait, I’ll do it myself!”
“Oh, of course. I’ll prepare the dress for you,” she said, stepping back.
[Rai! This is so embarrassing!]
Though I had brought my own items, I still had to wear a corset that Chelsea had found somewhere, along with thin undergarments.
There were so many little details, it made my head spin.
I checked my reflection in the full-length mirror, both front and back.
Thanks to the corset, my waist looked slim, and my arms and neckline were quite presentable.
It turns out that clothes really do make the person.
Feeling a bit more satisfied with my appearance, my mood lifted slightly.
After all, wearing a beautiful dress is a woman’s dream, isn’t it?
“You look stunning, Lady! Is this the latest fashion from Demitri?” Chelsea asked enthusiastically.
…I wouldn’t know.
“It’s not necessarily the latest trend… My parents gave it to me as a gift,” I replied.
“I see! Right now, in the social circles of Elan, dresses with deep necklines that plunge down to the middle of the chest are in style. This type, where the shoulders are entirely covered in lace, was briefly fashionable, but people thought it made the shoulders look broad and the chest appear flat, so it fell out of favor quickly. But it looks perfect on you! It’s as if the dress was made just for you!” Chelsea gushed.
“Is that so…? I didn’t think it was that special…”
Honestly, I felt a bit embarrassed by her praise, but it still made me feel good.
It might just be flattery, but compliments are always nice to hear.
“Really! The current fashion trends focus on pale skin, larger ribbons, and deeper necklines. You don’t need a ribbon at all. It’s more common for people who aren’t confident in their looks to use ribbons to distract the eye,” Chelsea explained.
“Well, I’m not confident in my skin, but… good to know I don’t need a ribbon.”
I sighed in relief, knowing I wouldn’t have to wear one of those gaudy accessories.
Chelsea opened the jewelry box and pulled out the necklace inside—a piece that had been given to me by the king as a graduation gift, in celebration of my contract with the mid-level spirit.
I hadn’t known which jewelry to bring, so I had picked this one at random.
“What kind of gemstone is this? It’s not a sapphire… Is it topaz? Spinel, perhaps?” Chelsea asked, examining the pale blue gem that resembled the color of water.
“Uh… well…”
I hesitated for a moment, trying to recall. I had known what it was at some point, but the name escaped me.
Rai, still wrapped around my wrist, was quick to chime in.
[Aquamarine, Master! The gem of the sea…]
“Aquamarine. It’s called the gem of the sea,” I repeated, using Rai’s words.
Ah, now that I said it out loud, I remembered.
“Ah, I’ve heard of it. Quite an expensive gem, isn’t it? If I may ask, which noble family do you belong to, Lady?” Chelsea inquired curiously.
“The Crowell family,” I answered.
“I see. No wonder you exude such grace. Your elegant posture and soft movements… they embody nobility itself!” Chelsea praised.
*That’s just from the warp sickness…*
My body was still wobbly, not from any natural grace, but from the lingering effects of warp travel.
I didn’t bother correcting her, though.
“Hehe…”
I wanted to chuckle modestly, but I held back.
Let’s just focus on getting ready for the party.
“Now, please have a seat! With your blue dress and blue jewelry, I’ll apply a shimmery gold makeup to complement your blonde hair!” Chelsea declared enthusiastically.
*Please don’t make me look ridiculous…*
